ATHLETIC TRAINING
Skiing with confidence.

Sci Club Blockhaus - Passolanciano

Skiing is the most beautiful sport in the world but, in order for you to gain confidence, it would be appropriate, even necessary, to do some athletic training before.
Do not forget that skiing, from a physical point of view, is a very demanding sport. The risk of injury increases exponentially with weariness.
It is also true that when we are in the mountains we never want to stop skiing and enjoy every minute of our day on the slopes, until the last.

When are you more likely to get hurt?
Early in the morning at the beginning of training and late in the afternoon after a long day. In fact muscles in the morning are still "cold" and the outside temperature does not certainly help to get going while we have a great desire to ski. So it is very important to do some warm-up before doing our utmost. Few minutes’ training and a little caution during the first slopes are necessary in order to better prepare our body, enjoying ourselves in safety.

The afternoon is the most critical moment, when physical tiredness takes over, reflexes slow down and athletic performance decreases.

And it is then that adequate physical preparation can prevent accidental trauma generated by a tired body exhausted by the slopes. Physical preparation, as well as nutrition or rest, are also necessary to maintain a good health. It would be sufficient to get some daily exercises to be ready to take on any sport, naturally with the right and gradual approach.

The physical training for skiing, but also for other sports, is feasible everywhere: outside, at home or in the gym. The only thing you need is only a bit of ... good will to overcome laziness.

There is no limit to perform physical activity: our body is designed to withstand, gradually, increasing efforts. Half an hour’s exercise a day would be ideal for both physical well-being and ski training, but it is not always so.

A good compromise would be some physical activity for at least two days per week.

A more focused approach is instead advisable for real fans and young athletes who participate in sport competitions.

Our instructors and coaches will give you useful advice.
